Immune system support. Glutathione is essential for the proper function of immune cells, including T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Research has shown that glutathione status directly influences immune cell proliferation and function³.

Mitochondrial protection. Mitochondria, the energy-producing structures within cells, are both major producers of free radicals and particularly vulnerable to oxidative damage. Mitochondrial glutathione is a critical defense against this damage, and its depletion is associated with reduced cellular energy production⁴.

No other single molecule in the body performs this breadth of protective and regenerative functions simultaneously. That's the biological reality behind the "master antioxidant" title, and it's why supporting glutathione levels has such wide-ranging implications for how people feel day to day.

The Problem That Nearly Every Other Glutathione Product Never Solved

Full FDA GRAS notification. OPITAC is the only glutathione ingredient with full FDA GRAS notification, meaning the FDA has reviewed a comprehensive safety dossier and issued a formal no-objection response. This is a meaningfully higher standard than the self-affirmed GRAS status that many supplement ingredients rely on.

Demonstrated oral bioavailability. Unlike the standard glutathione studied in earlier research, OPITAC has been the subject of human clinical research specifically examining its absorption. A study published in the European Journal of Nutrition found that oral supplementation with glutathione (using a well-absorbed form) significantly increased glutathione stores in red blood cells, plasma, and buccal cells over a four-week period, demonstrating that oral glutathione supplementation can be effective when the right form is used⁶.
