Process Notes

  1. Resolve referral from query string and fallback cookies.
  2. Normalize the referral cookie if duplicate values are found.
  3. Request live badge markup from the referral endpoint.
  4. Retry transient failures using controlled backoff.
  5. Insert returned badge HTML into the page and verify DOM visibility.
  6. Update Shopify cart attributes independently from badge rendering.
  7. Log each stage for review and troubleshooting.
